Avon Valley Academy is looking for a confident and personable Attendance Officer to provide a comprehensive service in monitoring and managing our school’s student attendance. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our Pastoral team who are committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all our pupils. Working Hours: Part time (32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, includes Teacher Training Days). The successful candidate with work closely with our pastoral and business teams and be responsible for recording and monitoring student attendance, using our school’s MIS system to track daily attendance. You will be expected keep accurate records, produce reports and communicate with students, parents, staff and external agencies on absences/attendance concerns as well as conduct attendance monitoring meetings, coordinate student admissions and ensure confidentiality at all times.

Is a strong team player, who is able to work effectively with our hardworking team on whole school issues;
Is committed to improving the life chances of all young people;
Has a good working knowledge of ICT systems (including Microsoft);
Is willing to learn to use the school’s MIS;
Has studied to a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A*- C) or equivalent in English and Maths;
Is well presented with a professional approach;
Is able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
Has previous experience working with young people and/or in a similar role.
