About the Role

Goffs-Churchgate Academy is seeking a passionate and

dedicated Teacher of English to join our thriving school community starting in

September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a

Key Responsibilities

Plan

and deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons to students

across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Assess,

monitor, and report on student progress, ensuring all learners are

supported to achieve their best.

Develop

and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Prepare

students for GCSE examinations, ensuring high standards of achievement.

Manage

classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and productive learning

environment.

Undertake

pastoral responsibilities, including acting as a form tutor and supporting

students’ academic and personal development.

Collaborate

with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student

success.

Participate

in extracurricular activities, such as school trips and clubs, to enrich

the student experience.

Engage

in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and

contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualified

Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree relevant to English.

Proven

experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, with a track record of

good or outstanding outcomes (NQTs with strong potential are welcome to

apply).

A

passion for teaching English and a commitment to inspiring a love of

learning in students.

Excellent

interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work

collaboratively as part of a team.

Strong

organisational skills and the ability to use data effectively to inform

lesson planning.

A

commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young

people.
