We are seeking to appoint an outstanding middle leader with the ability to teach Music from KS3-KS5 to join our thriving Creative Learning Area, which includes Music, Art, Performing Arts and Music Technology. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to work closely with the Learning Area Leader, helping to shape the strategic direction of the department and lead it forward with vision and energy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Learning Area Leader to develop and refine an ambitious and engaging curriculum, monitor standards of teaching, learning and assessment, drive improvement and secure excellent educational outcomes. They will contribute to a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement across the Learning Area. The successful candidate will join a thriving, growing music department where they will teach KS3 Music, lead GCSE and A Level Music provision and support the new Music Technology course. They will demonstrate a range of skills across the theoretical, compositional and performing aspects of the subject alongside competence in music technology. The role will also include effective liaison with peripatetic music staff through our partnership with the Chepstow Community Music Centre. Candidates will play a key role in raising the profile of the Creative Learning Area within the school and the wider community through organising and leading high‑profile enrichment and performance events, including the Christmas concert and an annual school production. This role will include responsibility of line management of the Music and Drama/Performing Arts curriculum, assessment and teaching and learning.
