Someries Junior School Midday Supervisor - s tarting ASAP Term Time - 8.75 hours per week (Currently 11:50am to 1:35pm) Thank you for your interest in joining our team as a Midday Supervisor. Someries Junior School is a welcoming community which pupils and staff enjoy being part of. We aspire for all of our children to succeed and we have high expectations for everyone. We are seeking an enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to ensure that children have a safe and enjoyable lunch break. Applicants will be required to undertake training to become a first aider. The role involves supervising children in the dining room and, afterwards, on the playground or field. Applicants need to be a good listener, have a good manner with children and promote our values by their own conduct. You will need to be confident, able to act on your initiative, patient and enjoy working with children. Safeguarding training and induction will be provided before employment commences. You will need to be able to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English. Our School We are situated in the Wigmore/Stopsley area of Luton and cater for local children aged 7 to 11. We are a small two-form entry junior school with large playing fields for our children to enjoy. The school offers: enthusiastic pupils who love learning an ethos of team working and mutual support supportive parents, carers and governors senior leaders that create a culture where all are valued and can thrive a good recent record of achievement (in line with national attainment) Hours of work are: Monday to Friday, 11:50am - 1:35pm - during school term time only. The pay rate is ยฃ12.85 per hour and the actual annual (pro rata) salary for 8.75 hours is ยฃ4936. Closing date: Sunday 10 May 2026 Interview date: w/c 18 May 2026 Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
