Director of Learning and Standards - Art and Design (Head of Department)

We require a well-qualified and enthusiastic professional to lead our dedicated Art and Design team across the school. As a result of continuing growth in student numbers, as well as offering increasing levels of external school to school support, we are seeking to appoint a well qualified and enthusiastic professional to lead our dedicated Creative Arts team. We offer a range of courses across Key stages 3 - 5; Art, Photography, Hospitality & Catering and 3D Design. As a school, we have a strong commitment to the Arts, and the department is extremely popular with students at GCSE and A Level. 3D Design would be an ideal specialism however all Creative Arts specialisms will be considered. This is an extremely exciting time to join a highly motivated and successful team. As a school we achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all categories in 2014, 2018 and have maintained this standard in our most recent inspection in 2024. As part of the Central Region Schools Trust, we work closely with a number of other local schools providing seamless education for all students age 3-19. You will have proven qualities in both teaching and either be an already established middle leader, or an aspiring middle leader, with the drive and ambition to complement the skill set of the Creative Arts team. Subject experience of Art, Photography and Design is essential.
