The Earls High School · Halesowen, West Midlands
Music is a vibrant and high-achieving part of school life. The department delivers consistently strong GCSE outcomes, with excellent uptake and two classes in both Year 10 and Year 11. Students benefit from a rich and ambitious curriculum at Key Stage 3, alongside an exceptional range of extracurricular opportunities including choirs, orchestras, ensembles, and the innovative Little Big Band (LBB), where Year 7 students learn brass instruments supported by older mentors. Performance is at the heart of what we do. Students regularly perform in our superb 300-seat theatre, equipped with professional lighting and sound, and have opportunities to showcase their talents in prestigious venues, including St Peter’s Basilica in Rome and St Mark’s Basilica in Venice. You will join a dynamic Performing Arts faculty of Music, Drama, and Dance specialists, where collaboration, creativity, and high expectations drive success. Performing Arts is central to the life of the school, with outstanding levels of student engagement and participation. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young musicians and contribute to a forward-thinking, high-performing department. The Earls High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will carry out pre-appointment checks including DBS and will disqualify any applicant where we consider the outcomes to be unsatisfactory. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. We are equally committed to ensuring that no applicant will be disadvantaged or discriminated against because of their protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
