About the role

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher to St Nicholas Catholic Academy from September 2026 to help lead this happy and successful school. Academy mission statement:  "Our Catholic school is a diverse, nurturing and dynamic community which is faithful to Jesus, welcoming to all and provides a learning environment where everyone can succeed" Situated in the heart of Liverpool city centre, St Nicholas Catholic Academy welcomes children from all over the world into its learning community. St Nicholas Catholic Academy is a popular and well-regarded school with a committed team of staff. The school community is made up of our wonderful children, their families, our parishes and a committed team of staff and who are all committed and work very hard to provide the very best opportunities to all pupils in order that we develop the ‘whole child’.  This is an exciting opportunity to help lead a strong Catholic primary academy. We are seeking someone, who is an inspirational leader and who possesses the vision and dedication required to enhance the leadership of this vibrant school, working alongside the Headteacher.  The successful candidate will: be a practising Catholic with a strong faith commitment (this is a reserved post) have a proven track record of leading, managing and motivating a school team be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can demonstrate and sustain outstanding teaching and learning embracing new developments and changes in the educational landscape be able to plan strategically and work alongside the Headteacher to create a longer-term vision for the school be passionate about making a positive difference to our pupils’ lives within an inclusive environment; someone who is ambitious for all our pupils have an excellent understanding of the CSI and Ofsted frameworks have the ability to build relationships with staff, pupils parents, governors and others working in St Joseph CMAT plus a variety of external partners. be able to inspire the whole community, build and maintain successful teams and work collaboratively with others to achieve success actively listen and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences place safeguarding at the heart of all decision-making   In return we can offer you: enthusiastic and ambitious children who are keen to learn a highly supportive, effective and ambitious Local Governing Body an academy which is staffed by a dedicated teaching and support team committed to supporting the academy and its pupils excellent professional development opportunities support from headteacher colleagues within St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust a strong framework of excellence in all aspects through being part of the St Joseph family high quality support for school improvement and operations from the St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust central team     For an informal discussion,
