Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management Support strategic development of the residential provision in line with school priorities Promote a positive, reflective, and professional care culture Assist in ensuring the provision meets Ofsted and regulatory requirements Contribute to effective use of resources and service development Provide supervision, guidance and role‑modelled practice for staff Support to Pupils Oversee morning and evening routines and activities Ensure a safe, nurturing and well‑organised residential environment Act as a role model for pupils and staff Oversee record‑keeping. Plan and support extracurricular activities and visits Work closely with education staff, families and external professionals to achieve agreed outcomes Safeguarding & Welfare Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and data protection policies Maintain clear professional boundaries and demonstrate emotional resilience What We’re Looking For ✔ Experience working with children or young people with additional or specific needs ✔ Supervisory or leadership experience within a care setting ✔ NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. ✔ Knowledge of National Minimum standards for Residential Special Schools safeguarding and legislation ✔ Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills ✔ Willingness to work early mornings, evenings and sleep‑in shifts ✔ Ability to lead with warmth, consistency and authority Personal Attributes Calm, resilient and reflective under pressure Motivated to improve outcomes for children and families Collaborative
