The successful candidate will support children in a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. You will work closely with the class teacher in either a Reception or Key Stage 1 class to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework or KS1 Programme of Study   Key Responsibilities Support the learning and development of children through play-based and adult-led activities Observe, record and contribute to assessments of children’s progress Provide individual and small-group support, including for children with SEND or additional needs Support the class teacher to create a safe, inclusive, well-organised and purposeful learning environment Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding responsibilities Promote positive behaviour and social development Work collaboratively with staff, parents and carers   Essential Qualities and Skills A warm, patient and nurturing approach to working with children A genuine passion for Early Years or Primary Education and child development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development (or willingness to learn) Ability to work effectively as part of a team A calm, flexible and positive attitude Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare   Desirable (but not essential) Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or Childcare) Previous experience working in an EYFS and or/KS1 setting Knowledge of supporting children with additional needs   We Offer A friendly and supportive team environment Opportunities for professional development and training A rewarding role supporting children at a vital stage of their development How to apply To download an application form, please click on the ‘Apply for Job’ button. Alternatively, these can be found on our website.
