About the role

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and confident Cover Supervisor to join our supportive secondary school team. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task and engaged in their learning. They will also support with other duties, pupil support and reporting where necessary. Key Responsibilities Supervise classes during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies Build positive and professional relationships with students to support engagement and wellbeing Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour during lessons Support the wider life of the school, including undertaking duties (e.g. break/lunch supervision) Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to uphold high standards across the school Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training opportunities Safeguard pupils in line with the school safeguarding policy Uphold the school ethos, rules and regulations and application of Health and Safety Regulations. Oversee the distribution, collection and storage of books and other equipment as directed by the teacher. Invigilate examinations to the required standard if needed.
