About the Role Are you interested in working with children and gaining hands-on experience in a school environment? We are offering an exciting Teaching Assistant Intern opportunity for individuals looking to take their first steps into education. This 6-week paid internship will give you practical classroom experience, supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and inclusion, while working closely with experienced teaching staff. You’ll play an important role in helping to create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment. What You’ll Be Doing With guidance from the class teacher, you will: Support pupils’ learning through planned classroom activities Work with individual pupils or small groups to help them understand and complete tasks Provide support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND and English as an Additional Language (EAL) Assist with pupils’ emotional and physical care when required Help promote inclusion so all pupils feel involved and supported Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities Prepare classroom resources and learning materials Encourage the use of ICT to enhance learning Assist with behaviour support and maintaining a calm learning environment Contribute to basic observations and records on pupil progress Support the preparation of the classroom and learning spaces Assist with school events, activities and celebrations Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers What We’re Looking For Caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children Willing to learn and take direction from teaching staff Able to build positive relationships with children and adults Committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment Internship Eligibility (Essential) To apply, you must: Live in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough Be 18+ (no upper age limit) Have the right to work in the UK Not currently in education, employment or training Unfortunately, if you do not meet all of the above criteria, you will not be eligible for this internship.
