About this Role Teacher of English Full time/ Part time considered Salary: MPS/UPS depending on experience Required to start: 1st September 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate of exceptional ability to join our English Department as a Teacher of Key stage 3-5 English in this over-subscribed and successful selective school. The school has an existing reputation for high quality education with a relentless focus upon high expectations and aspirations. The successful applicant will share these values and play an active part in delivering on this commitment. This role requires a strong understanding of how to engage, support and encourage students in order to achieve high standards. You will play a key role in supporting the corporate responsibility for the well-being, education and discipline of all students by: following designated programmes of study, carrying out necessary assessments, maintaining discipline in accordance with school policies, working closely with other teachers in the same curriculum area and engaging in continuous professional development in the relevant areas. We believe that the study of English and Literature should provide our students with both an independence of mind, and the essential communication skills necessary in their future lives. In the future, we see ourselves taking the department and the students forward, both in terms of attainment and results, extra-curricular activities, innovation and challenge, and also in developing those softer skills within our students that the study of English and Literature allows us to explore.
