About the role

Are you looking

to join a highly inclusive mainstream school that is committed to every child

being known, valued and supported to succeed? Do you thrive when working with other

committed and innovative members of staff?

If so, Altwood School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher

of Social Sciences to join us in September 2026. The successful candidate will be passionate

about teaching and creating a positive learning environment for all our

students.

All students

study Religious Studies up to and including GCSE. Sociology and Psychology A levels are

popular, as well as Criminology, and we teach Health and Social Care at both

Level 2 and Level 3. We also have

timetabled PSHE lessons from Year 7-11 and weekly Sixth Form enrichment.

The

successful applicant will be enthusiastic, flexible, well organised and able to

work as part of a team. You do not need

to offer all of the subjects listed above but experience across a range of

social sciences would be an advantage.

There will be KS4 and KS5 teaching opportunities.
