Teaching Assistant Level 2 Contract Type: 1 Permanent Role and 1 Maternity Cover (32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 1 Week) Salary: Grade 4 (Point 6-7) Closing Date: 20th May 2026 About the Role Meadowside Primary School is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our team. One role is permanent, and the other is a maternity cover. Both positions are based within our Key Stage 1 Designated Provision, where you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction of teaching or senior staff Support the implementation of the Early Years Framework and National Curriculum Enable access to learning for all pupils, including those with specific individual learning needs. Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning and extracurricular activities. Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Assist in classroom management, resource organisation, and lesson preparation. Observe and report on pupil performance to the class teacher. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development. Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies. Requirements We are looking for candidates who: Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) in supporting children. Have a general understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary National Curriculum. Have experience working with children with additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or PAD. Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills. Are committed to their own professional development. Possess good personal numeracy and literacy skills.
