About the role

We

are seeking to recruit an outstanding Year 6 Teacher, who will play a pivotal role in guiding pupils through their final year of primary school—a year that shapes their academic confidence and emotional readiness for secondary education. You’ll not only prepare them for SATs but also equip them with the skills, mindset, and self-belief to thrive in the next stage of their learning journey. What You'll Do Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that inspire curiosity and foster a love of learning across all subjects. Prepare pupils for SATs with a balanced approach that prioritises both academic achievement and wellbeing. Use assessment data to tailor learning, ensuring every child is supported and stretched appropriately. Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture where pupils feel safe to take risks and learn from mistakes. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure a joined-up approach to each child’s development. Lead or contribute to enrichment activities, trips, and school events that broaden pupils’ horizons. What You'll Bring Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6. A deep understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation strategies. Strong classroom management skills rooted in empathy, consistency, and high expectations. The ability to inspire, motivate, and connect with pupils from diverse backgrounds. A reflective, growth-oriented mindset and a willingness to share best practice with colleagues.

The

successful candidate will have a positive ethos and a strong skillset for

supporting pupils who experience challenges with social communication,

emotional regulation and sensory processing differences. You will be creative,

proactive and highly organised, ensuring that pupils feel safe, supported and

fully included within school life. Our aim is to help pupils develop the social

and emotional skills they need to live happy, fulfilling and as independent lives

as possible.
