Vocational Curriculum Lead

The role in a nutshell We are seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Vocational Curriculum Lead to oversee the development and delivery of the wider curriculum across Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will ensure that subjects beyond English and Mathematics are well sequenced, ambitious, and engaging, with clear progression in knowledge and skills that prepare pupils effectively for accreditation and qualifications in Key Stage 4.   Working closely with subject leaders and teaching staff, the Vocational Curriculum Lead will oversee curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring consistency, high expectations, and alignment with whole school priorities and qualification requirements. They will support staff in preparing pupils for assessments and external qualifications, monitor standards through curriculum review and outcomes, and promote high quality teaching that enables pupils to develop cultural capital and succeed in a broad, balanced education. The candidate   ·       An enthusiastic and strategic professional with a strong understanding of vocational and wider curriculum design across Key Stage 4 ·       Proven experience in curriculum leadership or subject leadership, with the ability to plan, sequence, and evaluate ambitious curricula ·       Strong understanding of progression in knowledge and skills, ensuring pupils are well prepared for accreditation and qualifications in Key Stage 4 ·       Confidence in working collaboratively with leaders and teaching staff to secure consistent, high-quality curriculum planning and delivery ·       High expectations for pupils and staff, with a commitment to inclusive, engaging, and aspirational education ·       Passion for promoting high-quality teaching that develops pupils’ cultural capital and supports success across a broad and balanced curriculum ·       Be an experienced and enthusiastic teacher ·       Show a strong commitment to inclusion, equity, and high expectations for all learners, particularly the most vulnerable   We welcome applications from everyone who believes they meet the expectations of the role regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith, or disability.
