Our oversubscribed academy is situated in leafy Compton Park, adjacent to the Wolves Academy training grounds, with its wonderful open fields and sports facilities. Curriculum Leader - Core Purpose Strategic To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole department and to monitor and support student progress. To be accountable for student progress and development within the Faculty. To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others. To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and adaptable curriculum, in accordance with the whole academy curriculum plan. To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the department. To effectively manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the Faculty to support the intended curriculum. To support the literacy and technology strategies within the academy. Operational To lead the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment and teaching strategies in the department. This will include exploring the use of curriculum opportunities to engage and raise aspirations of all students. To lead the day-to-day management, control and operation of course provision within the faculty, including effective training and deployment of staff and physical resources. To actively monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that appropriate intervention strategies are being deployed and the impact monitored. To fully participate in raising achievement and progress meetings alongside senior and middle leaders. To ensure that Health and Safety policies and practices, including risk assessments, throughout the Faculty are in line with Trust requirements and are updated where necessary, therefore, liaising with the academy’s Health and Safety Officer. Curriculum Provision: To liaise with the Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality and cost effective curriculum programme that complements the School Improvement Plan/School Evaluation.
