Waingels, a popular 11-18 school where students achieved above national average in all measures and was identified as “continuing to be good” in a recent OFSTED inspection, is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Humanities for a maternity cover. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated faculty and will have the opportunity to teach at key stage 3 and 4. Geography and History are taught across all key stages. We strongly believe in a three-year Key Stage 3 and have taken significant time to create an engaging, relevant and knowledge-rich curriculum. Planning, curriculum development and effective feedback are particular strengths of the Geography and History department and we are often used as examples to support other subjects. History and Geography staff work very closely together in an environment where staff wellbeing is at the forefront. RE and PSHCE is taught through our well-regarded and innovative Beliefs & Life Curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4. We are looking to appoint someone who is confident that they can deliver high quality lessons, predominantly our innovative and engaging Belief & Life Curriculum which covers Religious studies and PSHCE.
