Archbishop Holgate's School, A Church of England Academy · York, Yorkshire and the Humber
We are seeking an ambitious, knowledgeable and values-driven Subject Leader of IT & Computing to lead a strong and successful department into its next phase of development.
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner to shape a modern, relevant and ambitious computing curriculum, ensuring that all students develop the knowledge and skills required to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
You will work closely with senior leaders, Curriculum Leadership Group (CLG) colleagues and pastoral teams to ensure a fully aligned approach to curriculum, teaching, behaviour and student support.
At Key Stage 3, all students follow a broad and balanced curriculum including programming, data handling, computer systems, web development and e-safety. Schemes of work are well-established and continue to evolve to reflect national developments in computing education.
At Key Stage 4, both vocational IT and GCSE Computer Science are popular and successful options, with strong outcomes over time and positive progress measures.
At Key Stage 5, the department offers both vocational IT and A Level Computer Science, with consistently strong ALPS performance (typically 1–3). Student uptake is healthy and reflects the strength of provision across the key stages.
The department benefits from excellent facilities, including six dedicated computer suites and fully integrated IT provision across the school and sixth form.
