Supportive leadership - planning days and well-being days offered to give you work life balance The role We are seeking a dynamic Reception teacher who will: Plan and deliver a high‑quality EYFS curriculum that develops communication, language, early reading, number sense, self‑regulation and independent learning through outstanding continuous provision. Create enabling, engaging indoor and outdoor environments that encourage exploration, sustained play and proud outcomes for all pupils. Make coming to school fun — build routines, activities and classroom culture that children eagerly join each day. Work closely with our new nursery provision and KS1 colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and coherent curriculum progression. Work closely with the designated Assistant Headteacher and take responsibility for deploying and line‑managing support staff with confidence and sensitivity. Use assessment skilfully to identify next steps and adapt provision so every child — especially disadvantaged pupils and those with EAL or SEND — makes strong progress. Model excellent classroom practice, contribute to whole‑school improvement priorities (reading, writing, maths fluency) and participate in planning and moderation. Build strong, collaborative relationships with families and colleagues; be personable, approachable and maintain high expectations. Maintain safeguarding and pupil well‑being as non‑negotiable priorities. Person specification — essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience of planning and delivering continuous provision and play‑led learning in Reception (preferred). Experience of deploying and line‑managing teaching assistants or support staff Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and evidence‑informed practice. A warm, personable approach and a clear commitment to making school an engaging, joyful place to learn. Experience or willingness to adapt practice for pupils with EAL and SEND.
