About Us Whalley Range 11-18 High School is a popular, high-performing, multicultural inner-city girls’ comprehensive school with a thriving Sixth Form, located close to Manchester city centre. Our recent academic results at GCSE include an Attainment 8 score of 52.04, exceeding both local and national averages. The Role We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join our successful 11-18 all‑girls school from August 2026. You will deliver high‑quality English teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons that challenge all learners and secure strong progress. As part of a collaborative and forward‑thinking faculty, you will contribute to curriculum development, use evidence‑informed pedagogy, and uphold high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement. This is a permanent, full‑time post, suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers alike, with strong support for professional growth. What We’re Looking For You will be a qualified English teacher with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people, particularly within a diverse and inclusive school community. You will have strong subject knowledge, high expectations of pupils, and a commitment to equality, safeguarding and student wellbeing. An effective team player, you will be reflective, organised and resilient, with the ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEND and EAL.
