About the role

Hours: 0.8 - 1.0 FTE, Permanent  Start Date: September 2026 We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Music with excellent subject expertise, who can combine high-quality teaching with a passion for performance to enhance student engagement and outcomes. Job overview

You will bring Music to life, motivating students to achieve their full potential through inspiring practical and theoretical teaching that nurtures confident performers, creative composers, and skilled listeners. Required Experience

The ability to teach Music to GCSE and, potentially, A-Level

Evidence of reflective practice and a willingness to learn and develop Required Values

A genuine enjoyment of the subject and teaching young people

A commitment to a pastoral role as a form tutor A commitment to contribute to extra-curricular activities, including running ensembles  Scholarship – demonstrating a love of learning, and showing evidence of using research / wider reading to further knowledge and skills as a teacher

PPA is protected, and can be spent at home  Extra Time for Curriculum Planning: Departments are supported with additional cover for curriculum planning time when needed.

Flexibility: Staff are free to leave the site when not teaching, and we cover staff for personal or medical appointments, so you don’t have to worry about scheduling conflicts.

Exam Board Marking During School Hours: Exam board marking can be completed during the school day where gained time allows, and any gained time can be spent at home.

Professional Development: We offer 2 INSET days at the start of the academic year and 2 at the end of an extended October half-term, during which you’ll have the opportunity to visit
