We are looking for someone: •Who has an Early Years Level 3 qualification that meet
Department for Education (DfE) criteria for counting in the early years
foundation stage statutory framework staff:child ratios. •Caring, motivated, well organised and committed to
supporting the learning, care and development of children in the Early Years
Foundation Stage. •Fully committed to the safeguarding and protection of
children, with a clear understanding of their responsibility to promote
children’s welfare at all times. •Acts as a positive and nurturing role model, with high
expectations for all children and a strong commitment to inclusive practice. •Is an effective communicator, able to build warm,
trusting relationships with young children, colleagues and parents/carers. •Is patient, resilient and flexible, with the ability
to respond calmly and sensitively to the emotional and developmental needs of
young children. •Able to work effectively as part of a team, following
direction from the class teacher while also using initiative to support
learning and care routines. •Enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about early
learning, with a genuine interest in helping children develop confidence,
independence and curiosity. •Willingness to undertake Paediatric First Aid training
and further training as required.
The successful candidate will be able to: •Support teaching and learning within the Early Years
setting, including working with individuals, small groups and during whole
class activities. •Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging,
play based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework. •Observe children’s learning and development and
provide clear feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo to support assessment
and next steps. •Support children’s wellbeing and emotional needs in a
respectful and age appropriate manner.
•Support children with personal care including
toileting, changes, intimate care and feeding in line with school policies. •Contribute to daily routines and wider school
responsibilities, including playground duty. •Attend relevant training to support children with
additional or specific needs. •Participate fully in staff meetings and contribute
positively to the wider life of the school. •Support the preparation to support learning across all
areas of the EYFS. •Support children with SEND and additional needs,
implementing agreed strategies as individual targets under the direction of the
teacher and SENCO.
