We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Leader of Maths to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) This is a permanent, full-time position on Teaching terms MPS–UPS plus TLR 1.3 allowance of £14,864, starting September 2026. We’re looking for: A qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK who is ready to take on a key leadership role and drive improvements across the curriculum. You will be an excellent classroom practitioner, with successful experience in the 11–16 phase, consistently delivering good or outstanding lessons. You will demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a clear understanding of current curriculum developments. You will also: Have the ability to lead, inspire and develop colleagues Be committed to raising standards and accelerating student progress Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills Be an effective communicator with the ability to build positive professional relationships Be passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and contributing to the wider life of the school Main purpose of the job: This is a middle leadership post. In addition to the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, the post holder will provide strategic leadership and management of the Maths curriculum, developing excellence in pedagogy to ensure accelerated progress for all students. The post holder will be accountable to a Senior Leader and will play a key role in driving teaching quality, curriculum development and student outcomes across the department.Key responsibilities will include: Leading, managing and developing the Maths curriculum across the Academy to secure high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes Establishing a shared vision within the team that aligns with whole-school priorities, motivating and inspiring colleagues Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and other strategies, and implementing improvements where necessary Leading on intervention strategies to raise attainment and accelerate progress Ensuring the aims and objectives of the department are regularly reviewed and embedded in practice Managing departmental resources and budget effectively to maximise impact and value for money Supporting the professional development and performance management of staff within the department Collaborating with other curriculum areas to promote cross-curricular learning and whole-school improvement Promoting a rich programme of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities within the subject area To find out more about the full responsibilities of the role and/or to ensure you meet the essential criteria, please review the attached Job Description.
