About the role

Sybil Andrews Academy Teacher of Mathematics  Contract: Full Time, Permanent (suitable for ECT)  Salary: MPR/UPR (£32,916 to £51,048) Start date:  September 2026 We are seeking an inspiring and ambitious Maths teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality lessons which foster curiosity and enable students to thrive. The vacancy is full time and is suitable for ECTs.  The maths team is made up of five subject specialists. All of our classrooms are fully resourced with interactive screens; class sets of mini-whiteboards and visualisers. The department follow the White Rose scheme of learning and use Sparx maths as a homework tool and for supporting independent study. In KS4 all students are entered for Edexcel GCSE Maths and have the opportunity to select GCSE Statistics as one of their KS4 options. In addition, students are given the opportunity to enter for the AQA Level 2 qualification in Further Maths. We have a strong culture of enrichment with our more able students In Year 9 and 10 being entered for the UKMT Junior and Intermediate challenges, and taking part in the Eureka Maths events coordinated by the Cambridge Maths School. In 2025 81.4% of our Year 11 cohort achieved a Grade 4 or higher, and 58.8% achieved a grade 5 or higher, reflecting our commitment to excellence. For GCSE Statistics this was 93.8% 5+ and 62.5% 7+.  We are driven by our three values: Responsibility, Courage and Kindness. These values underpin everything that we do.
