The Role This isn’t about sitting at the back of a classroom. You’ll be on the frontline of student success - running interventions, mentoring 1:1, and managing small groups in our dedicated Inclusion suites. You will work closely with our SENDCo and SEN Managers to turn department policy into real-world results. What you’ll do: Empower Independence: Help students with SEN complete tasks to the highest standard while fostering self-reliance. Build Relationships: Act as a role model, setting high expectations for behaviour and presentation. Innovate: Deliver specialised intervention programmes that bridge the learning gap. Collaborate: Work with passionate pastoral and SEND teams to ensure every child feels included, safe, and heard. The Special Needs department The department is responsible for supporting students with a range of special needs. Accommodation consists of a purpose-built block of rooms. All rooms are very well equipped and are flexible enough to be used for teaching groups of varying sizes up to twelve. One of the dedicated rooms also serves as an ‘Inclusion Room’ and students with temporary access concerns and students who need time out spend some time there. TAs may support this area. The Special Needs Co-ordinator oversees provision in school, working closely with staff and parents to try to meet individual needs.
