Pastoral Assistant Help shape behaviour, wellbeing and brighter futures We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join our supportive pastoral team. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference to pupils’ lives every day, helping them to feel safe, regulated, included and ready to learn. About the Role You will support our relational, therapeutic approach to behaviour—working closely with pupils, staff and families to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and strong relationships. You will: Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs Help staff manage behaviour using calm, consistent and restorative approaches Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions (e.g. ELSA, Zones of Regulation) Support reintegration after suspension or time away from school Contribute to safeguarding as a Deputy DSL (DDSL) Work with families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning Help maintain a positive, inclusive school culture What We’re Looking For Strong relationship-building skills with young people Calm, resilient and solution-focused approach Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and high expectations Ability to support pupils with complex behavioural and emotional needs Team player with a passion for making a difference What We Offer A caring, supportive pastoral team Full training (including behaviour support, safeguarding and First Aid) Opportunities to grow professionally A role where you can have real impact every day 📌 Driving licence required | Willingness to train essential For more information please see the Job description and personal specification attached.
