Your role: As a Construction Skills Instructor at Richard Barnes Academy, you will work with young people aged 12-16 in an alternative provision setting, helping them develop practical construction skills, confidence, and positive work habits. This is a hands on, workshop focused role , centred on: - - Delivering practical construction skills - - Modelling industry standards, routines, and safe working practices - - Engaging learners through real-world, skills-based activities You’ll work as part of a supportive team, building positive relationships and preparing students for progression into further education, training, or apprenticeships. While there is some planning and assessment, you will be fully supported , with the emphasis firmly on practical delivery rather than paperwork heavy classroom teaching. What we’re looking for : Strong hands on experience in construction or a related trade A practical, patient and encouraging approach The ability to build positive relationships with young people A commitment to safety, inclusion and safeguarding Previous teaching experience is helpful but not essential.
