About the role

This is a unique opportunity for an inspirational

candidate. Rode and Norton St. Philip First School Federation is a popular and welcoming

community, based across two village first schools 20 minutes south

of Bath. Both sites are idyllic, surrounded by countryside and with very

supportive parents and village communities. We offer a creative curriculum, underpinned by

well-structured plans, in a nurturing learning environment where we aim to

‘ignite a creative spark’ in both staff and children. Our

teachers can be based at either site but the post holder will initially teach

year 2 or 3 on the Rode site, depending on experience and strengths. A

consultation is currently taking place in the Frome area which may lead to our

school becoming a primary school in the next few years. We are seeking a special person who shares our

vision and values, is committed to doing their very best for our team and

children, and who enjoys their job as a teacher. Our

children are highly motivated and excited by learning. Creativity is at the

heart of our school, and we provide numerous opportunities for staff and

children to immerse themselves in the Arts, Literature, Performance and Film.

Staff are trusted and encouraged to innovate and research new ideas. We believe,

in life, you get out what you put in and as such, are looking for a teacher who

is committed and can care about our school and the people in it.

We are

looking for a candidate who:

-

Has experience of delivering the Year 2 and/or 3

curriculum and an understanding of other primary year groups. -

Has strong phonics, early reading and SEND

knowledge but is also willing to learn.

-

Is dynamic, a self-motivated researcher of ideas

and a reflective practitioner.

-

Is committed to the highest expectations of

children’s learning and progress.

-

Is enthusiastic and imaginative in creating

engaging, surprising, learning experiences.

-

Is interested in building children’s oracy and vocabulary.

-

Has excellent interpersonal skills and an ability

to build strong relationships with our families

-

Is nurturing and able to encourage the best from every

child allowing all to shine.

-

Is a friendly, caring, team-player with a good

sense of humour who can complement our small team and contribute to the wider

life of our schools.
