About the role

The Science Department is a key curriculum area within the Academy, with a strong focus on high‑quality teaching, consistency of practice, and excellent outcomes for all students. The Role: The successful candidate will carry out the professional duties of a Science teacher in accordance with the Academy’s policies and under the direction of the line manager. You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 and may also teach up to KS3 in another subject. Teaching to GCSE level in Science or another subject is required. The successful candidate will: Teach Science at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE level (and up to KS3 in another subject where required). Deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the Academy’s Features of Great Teaching. Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement in line with ‘The CHA Way’. Use assessment effectively to monitor student progress and inform planning. Contribute to curriculum development and share best practice within the Science team. Support enrichment activities and wider engagement in Science. Act as a form tutor, delivering pastoral and Life Skills (PSHE) provision. Promote student wellbeing, safeguarding, and positive relationships with parents. Take part in Academy events and ongoing professional development. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or willingness to gain QTS A degree in Science or a related field preferred. Experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
