To be accountable for pastoral
interventions and learning of any student who is directed to Behaviour Refocus, i.e. internally suspended.
To manage Behaviour Refocus so that: Students receive bespoke pastoral interventions which address the underlying reasons for their behaviour. Students are supported to reflect on their own behaviour in a systematic and effective way. A calm environment encourages and supports good behaviour. Students are effectively engaged and understand the purpose of their work. Teaching staff are kept updated, ensuring appropriate academic work is set and completed. § Strong relationships are fostered with young people and staff. Intervention planning is rigorous, appropriate and upheld by best practices. Intervention planning meets the needs of each learner, being resourced with care and with appropriate prioritisation. Progress of students is systematically tracked; interventions are well-primed and effectively deployed. Parents and other stakeholders are effectively engaged so that they can play a pro-active and positive role in supporting their child. To support the Pastoral Team by: Developing pastoral interventions resources to be delivered by other staff. Liaising effectively with other staff. Work proactively with any other students who are working out of normal lessons when Behaviour Refocus is empty.
