The Role As 2nd in Maths, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Faculty to lead and develop our Maths department. You will help to inspire both colleagues and students, contributing to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, raising standards, and driving student progress. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher with leadership potential, eager to develop their career while making a significant impact. Key Responsibilities: Support the Head of Faculty in leading and managing the Maths department. Contribute to curriculum development, teaching, and assessment. Monitor student progress and set ambitious targets for improvement. Support colleagues through guidance, coaching, and sharing best practice. Deputise for the Head of Faculty when required. Contribute to extra-curricular provision and enrichment opportunities. Act as a role model, upholding high standards of behaviour, effort, and aspiration. What We’re Looking For Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree-level education. Ability to teach Maths across KS3 and KS4. Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum. Experience of motivating and inspiring students of all abilities. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills. Commitment to ensuring every pupil reaches their potential. Desirable: Awareness of current GCSE syllabus developments. Experience with innovation in the classroom (e.g., interactive technology).
