Thomas Tallis School is seeking to appoint a highly organised, professional and proactive Lead Receptionist to oversee the smooth and effective operation of our busy reception area. This is a key role within our administration team, acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors, and ensuring a welcoming, efficient and safe environment at all times. You will lead a small team of reception staff, managing rotas, supporting colleagues and ensuring consistently high standards across all reception functions. The role also includes responsibility for coordinating day-to-day front-of-house operations and supporting a wide range of administrative processes. As Lead Receptionist, you will take responsibility for leading and managing the reception team, ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the front-of-house service. You will provide a professional and welcoming first point of contact for all visitors, while managing the school’s main switchboard and responding to enquiries efficiently. The role involves supporting key administrative processes such as attendance updates, visitor management and student services, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring safeguarding procedures are consistently followed. You will work closely with the Office Manager and the wider administrative team, contribute to key school events including open mornings and parents’ evenings, and ensure that the reception area reflects the school’s high standards and values at all times.
