Madeley High School · Crewe, West Midlands
An exciting part time opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and communicative Attendance Support and Welfare Officer to join the friendly support staff team at Madeley School. This role is integral to the academy’s success, with a strong focus on monitoring, analysing and addressing student attendance and the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying patterns of absence and implementing appropriate strategies to support students in returning to regular attendance.
In addition to maintaining accurate attendance records and providing welfare support, the post holder will play a key role in promoting positive attendance across the school. This includes coordinating targeted support for persistently absent students, working collaboratively with the Pastoral Team, Education Welfare Officer, subject teachers, parents/carers and the students themselves.
Experience with IT systems such as A Star Attendance and Arbor would be advantageous, however, full training will be provided.
As the role involves working closely with some of the school’s most vulnerable students and their families, the successful candidate must demonstrate a calm and professional manner, with the ability to be both authoritative and empathetic as situations require. A high level of discretion, a commitment to strict confidentiality, adherence to safeguarding procedures, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Why Madeley?
