Edgewood Primary
School is looking to appoint a highly skilled Teaching Assistant to join our
dedicated team.
This role will
be working 1:1 with children with significant special educational needs both in
the classroom, at break times and in our specialist provision with other
members of staff.
The successful
candidate will be:
Qualified as a teaching assistant Enthusiastic and able to think on their feet to solve problems Be IT literate to input information onto our school
information system (after training on this system). Able to keep the child’s provision running effectively Be committed to inclusion of the children they work with Able to communicate well with children, parents and staff Able to maintain a positive outlook and cheerful personality Able to adapt planned curriculum to meet needs
This is a demanding
role and would suit a candidate with experience of roles that have included
intensively caring for others (e.g. previous 1:1 support or in other sectors
such as caring for the elderly). The
successful candidate should also have a clear understanding of supporting
children with special educational needs from their TA qualifications or
experience in work.
