Academic Mentor - Pupil Premium

The John of Gaunt School is seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join their team. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils. This role focuses on working closely with students, primarily in KS3, to raise aspirations, improve achievement, and support attendance through one‑to‑one and small‑group mentoring. The successful candidate will coach students in independent study skills, support homework completion, and help set meaningful goals and targets. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to create strong home‑school partnerships and effective intervention strategies. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role involves working with student data, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to progress reporting.
