Self-Regulation Room Manager Consett Academy Grade 5 | Term Time Only Start Date: 1st September 2026 Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and thrive in school? Are you looking for a rewarding, term-time only role that offers the opportunity to make a real impact every day? About the role As Self-Regulation Room Manager, you will lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of the SRR under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher (Behaviour). You will support students with behaviour concerns, helping them develop the skills and strategies needed to successfully return to mainstream lessons. You will monitor academic progress, analyse behaviour data, and coordinate targeted interventions, working closely with Heads of Year, teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies. The role is both strategic and hands-on, blending data analysis with relationship building and direct student support. What you’ll be doing Managing the SRR to ensure a calm, safe and supportive learning environment Supporting students with behavioural, emotional and learning needs Planning and delivering targeted intervention programmes Working closely with teaching staff to ensure academic work is accessible Communicating regularly with parents/carers and external agencies Developing and monitoring individual action plans and behaviour targets Supporting transition into secondary school and post-16 provision Helping to develop reward systems and initiatives that promote positive behaviour, attendance and progress Contributing to wider inclusion provision and supporting colleagues where required Who we’re looking for We are seeking a resilient, organised and compassionate professional with recent experience of working with young people, particularly those who may be vulnerable or struggling with behaviour and engagement. You will be confident managing behaviour, building professional relationships, and working calmly under pressure. You’ll bring strong communication skills, excellent organisation, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. Experience within a secondary school or inclusion setting is advantageous, but we welcome applicants who can demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine desire to support young people.
