About the role

Joseph Norton Academy in Huddersfield is a special academy educating children and young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties across Kirklees. With our new school underway in Deighton we are recruiting ready for our growth. These values are reflected in our Ways of Working. As an Inclusion Support Worker ISW at this school, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and help our pupils navigate the path to a better future. This includes: Getting the classroom environment ready for learning Supporting the pupils in class to access academic and vocational learning Act as a co-regulator for students experiencing emotional distress, using trauma-informed approaches to help them return to a state of readiness for learning Completing pupils records to maintain accurate recordkeeping Taking the lead on specific activities and sessions Providing learning routines at school, in the community and in the family home to support attendance and engagement Utilise approved de-escalation techniques and physical intervention to ensure the safety of students and staff during periods of crisis THE CANDIDATE Experience in a school or similar setting IDEALLY experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs Educated with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Car driver with access to own vehicle OR willingness to learn (salary reflective if criteria not met) SALARY/ HOURS Starting salary for a ISW Inclusion Support Worker (Grade 7) is £22,604 actual annual salary (FTE = £29,540) working 32.5 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust NEXT STEPS If you are interested in this excellent opportunity simply clinic APPLY NOW alternatively if you have additional questions then please reach out to us: recruitment@sppartnership.co.uk If you are unsure if you meet all the criteria but have an interest in this opportunity then please do submit your application We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
