We
are seeking to appoint an outstanding Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our
dedicated team from September 2026. Applications from qualified teachers
seeking a flexible role are also welcome. This
is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner to work across the
school, delivering high-quality learning during teachers’ PPA time and
leadership release time, while making a genuine difference to children’s
outcomes. The
successful candidate will work across classes and key stages as required.
Specific timetabled days, classes and deployment arrangements are not yet fixed
and will be confirmed once whole-school staffing and curriculum planning for
the new academic year has been finalised. Flexibility and willingness to work
across different year groups will therefore be essential.
Main Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan,
prepare and deliver high-quality lessons to whole classes during cover
sessions.
Deliver
curriculum lessons likely to include RE, Music, Art or Spanish,
depending on final timetable arrangements and school need.
Use
agreed schemes of work and progression materials to ensure strong
curriculum coverage.
Adapt
learning effectively for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and higher
attainers.
Maintain
high expectations for behaviour, participation, presentation and outcomes.
Assess
learning during lessons and provide feedback to class teachers.
Liaise
with staff to ensure continuity of learning and clear next steps.
Wider
Responsibilities
Support
pupils with identified needs to make academic, social and emotional
progress.
Prepare
resources for teaching and learning.
Contribute
positively to school events, visits and wider enrichment opportunities.
Work
collaboratively with teachers, leaders and support staff.
Attend
training and relevant meetings.
Uphold
safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
