Teacher of Maths Full Time | Permanent | September Start | MPS Closing Date: 3rd May 2026 Longsands Academy is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our forward‑thinking and supportive team from September. This is a full‑time, permanent post, paid on the Main Pay Scale (MPS). The Role As a Teacher of Maths at Longsands Academy, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning that inspires students and enables them to achieve strong outcomes. You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, using assessment effectively to support progress, and maintaining consistently high expectations of behaviour and achievement. Working closely with colleagues within the Maths department and across the academy, you will contribute to a collaborative culture that supports both staff development and student success. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging Maths lessons that meet the needs of all learners Assess, track and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and appropriate intervention Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement Contribute to collaborative planning and the sharing of best practice within the Maths department Support the wider life of the academy, including enrichment and extracurricular activities as appropriate Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to support positive outcomes What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will: Be a qualified teacher (or ECT) with strong subject knowledge in Maths Have a commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning Hold high expectations for all students and a belief in their potential Be reflective, motivated and committed to professional development Be able to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive academy with a strong team ethos and a shared commitment to excellence in education.
