Teacher of SEND (Resource Base) Job Advert Teacher of SEND (Resource Base) Permanent, Full-Time Pay Scale: M1-UPS3 Start date: 1st September 2026 Interview date: 30th April 2026 We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of SEND to join our thriving SEND department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher with experience in KS2 or within a SEND setting to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will teach small classes within our Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Resource Base, delivering personalised and engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally. Our well-established and expanding Resource Base currently supports around 30 students with an EHCP with SLCN as their primary need. Admission to the Resource Base is in consultation with the Local Authority. Students typically work below Age Related Expectations (ARE), and this can include significantly below ARE; however, if strengths are identified, individual provisions are made where students would access mainstream English and Maths. The provision offers a nurturing and structured environment where students receive approximately 60% of their curriculum within the base and 40% in mainstream lessons, allowing them to benefit from both specialist teaching and inclusive experiences. The curriculum is flexible and can lead to a range of qualifications, tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of each learner. The Resource Base has been running successfully for a number of years and is a valued part of our school community. You will be joining a supportive, collaborative, and experienced SEND team, committed to ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education that empowers them to succeed. We welcome applications from primary-trained colleagues with strong KS2 experience as well as teachers with a background in SEND. What matters most is your ability to form strong relationships, deliver an adapted and creative curriculum based upon a system of assess-plan-do-review and maintain high standards through the implementation of SEND-informed behaviour for learning strategies. This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference—every single day.
