About the role Due to the promotion of one of our class teachers to the role of Deputy Headteacher we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic class teacher. Within the role you will be responsible for the learning and achievement of pupils in your allocated class, in line with the Teachers’ Standards and the school’s curriculum and values. Key responsibilities include: Teaching pupils according to their educational needs, following the school’s curriculum, plans and schemes of work Planning and preparing well-structured lessons and sequences of lessons Promoting good progress and outcomes for all pupils Setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils Assessing, monitoring, recording and reporting on pupils’ progress and achievement Marking work in line with the school’s marking policy Maintaining strong and up-to-date curriculum knowledge Promoting high standards of literacy and numeracy across the curriculum Managing behaviour effectively and maintaining good order and discipline in line with school policy Promoting the safety and wellbeing of all pupils Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of school and trust policies and practices Working collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum and pupil development Communicating effectively with parents/carers and external agencies Deploying and supervising Teaching Assistants and other support staff Participating in meetings relating to curriculum, organisation and pastoral arrangements Making a positive contribution to the wider life of the school Participating in appraisal and professional development activities Supporting the professional development of colleagues where appropriate School Tours School Tours are available for prospective candidates on the following dates: Monday 20th April - 4.30 pm Wednesday 22nd April - 1 pm Benefits As part of Anthem Schools Trust, staff benefit from a supportive working environment and access to a range of employee benefits, including health and wellbeing support, professional development opportunities and financial benefits.
