About the role

A key part of the role as an apprentice is to develop the skills required to be able to perform the role of a Qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant. This will involve completion of the Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will provide the support that will help our children succeed. You will offer general support to the teacher in the management of pupils, classroom activities and assistance in the provision of the wider school curriculum. Working compassionately, you will work with our teachers to secure good progress for all children, regardless of their abilities and capabilities. You will support the teaching of our children one to one, in groups, and as part of the whole class, while actively promoting the ethos and values of the school. You will also receive time within the working day to work towards your apprenticeship and will receive support from the school with a mentor. The post offers challenge, reward and role development for the right candidate. The role will be based at Westerton Primary Academy with opportunities to work with other professionals across the Trust.
