About the role

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Vocational Trainer in Automotive to deliver high-quality practical and classroom-based training across a range of automotive programmes from Entry Level 3 to Level 3. Working with both full-time learners and apprentices, you will play a key role in developing the technical skills, knowledge and confidence of students, helping them progress into successful careers within the automotive industry. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the future delivery of T Levels.

You will deliver and assess training on programmes including IMI Levels 1–3 Diplomas, City & Guilds apprenticeship standards with End Point Assessment, school links and home-educated learner provision. The role involves developing engaging learning materials, contributing to curriculum development, attending course meetings and supporting departmental marketing activities and recruitment events. You will work closely with employers, awarding organisations and industry partners to ensure training remains relevant to current industry standards, while also supporting the delivery of short courses, mentoring new staff and maintaining high standards of health and safety and quality assurance.

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and industry-focused professional with excellent communication and practical skills, relevant automotive experience and a Level 3 qualification in Automotive (or an equivalent advanced vocational qualification). Experience of delivering training, assessing learners or working with apprentices is desirable, although full teacher training and support towards a recognised teaching qualification will be provided for the right candidate. If you are passionate about sharing your industry expertise and inspiring the next generation of automotive professionals, we would love to hear from you.

To be eligible for the upper end of the advertised salary range, the successful candidate must hold an Advanced Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA or equivalent), an Internal Quality Assurance qualification (V1/VI), and a recognised teaching qualification, alongside substantial previous experience of line managing staff.
