The Role As a Senior Assistant Teacher / Cover Supervisor, you will: Cover and supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Deliver high-quality learning activities within an agreed framework. Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted interventions and support. Assist teachers with planning, preparation and the development of learning resources. Support pupils with a range of needs to access learning and make progress. Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing detailed feedback. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a purposeful learning environment. Lead, mentor and support Assistant Teachers as required. Support pupils' social, emotional and pastoral needs. Foster positive partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals. Contribute to the wider life, ethos and continuous improvement of the school. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a professional who: Has experience working with children and young people, ideally within a SEND environment. Understands the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and additional learning needs. Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Can confidently lead whole-class learning and small group interventions. Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach. Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and achieving positive outcomes for all pupils. Works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
