We are a Complex Needs School for pupils with moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties between the ages of 3 to 19. All pupils have different learning needs; they learn best when they are happy and excited about learning. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our committed team. This is a pivotal role within our school, ensuring that safeguarding and the welfare of every child remain at the heart of everything we do. As our Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for all safeguarding and child protection matters, working collaboratively with staff, families, governors, and external agencies to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. The successful candidate will have: Significant experience in safeguarding and child protection within an education or children's services setting. A thorough understanding of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Prevent Duty. Experience of working effectively with multi-agency partners and managing complex safeguarding cases. Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills. The ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external professionals. A calm, resilient, and professional approach when managing sensitive and confidential matters.
