High Street Primary, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the School in March 2025. Post: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: High Street Primary, Plymouth, PL1 3SJ FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade E, pts 15-20, £30,024 - £32,597 per annum, pro rata Actual Annual Salary: £19,858 - £21,560 Contract Type: Permanent, part time, term time only (39 weeks per year) Contract Hours: 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday For this role we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours, job share, compressed hours, or staggered hours. About the role We are recruiting for a HLTA to join our team who will complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervisors. Your duties will include: Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individual groups or classes Monitoring and assessing pupils Recording & reporting on pupil’s achievements, progress and development Cover PE and Sports lessons Support the preparation for vocational lessons Support Marlborough Academy when needed About the successful candidate You will need: Higher Level Teaching Assistant standard or equivalent qualification or experience NVQ Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) Flexibility to work in different subject departments within the school Have strong IT skills to support in the use of ICT in learning activities Eager to learn and are instinctively enthusiastic with colleagues and students About the School High Street Primary Academy is a Primary school in Plymouth’s Coastal Quarter.
