As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining high quality learning, behaviour and student engagement across the school. Working closely with colleagues and under the direction of senior leaders, you will support a culture of high expectations, ensuring all scholars are supervised, supported and ready to learn. You will be a highly effective and reflective practitioner, fostering a positive and purposeful learning environment that is rooted in high expectations, inclusion and consistently strong behaviour. Through effective supervision, clear communication and responsive support, you will enable pupils to remain focused, engaged and successful in their learning. This role is ideal for a committed and resilient Cover Supervisor who upholds the highest professional standards, models Astrea values and is driven to deliver high quality support and life changing opportunities for young people. Key Responsibilities: Maintain high quality classroom environments in the absence of the teacher Deliver pre-set work, ensuring students remain engaged, on task and able to make progress in their learning. Promote strong behaviour and high expectations Enforce academy routines and behaviour systems consistently, ensuring a calm, purposeful and respectful learning environment. Provide effective supervision and support to students Support studentsβ learning by offering guidance and encouragement, ensuring all pupils are focused, supported and ready to succeed. Respond to behaviour and incidents appropriately Address low-level disruption and escalate issues where necessary, ensuring follow-up actions are in line with academy expectations. Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams Communicate effectively with staff to ensure continuity in learning, behaviour and student support across the school. Maintain a visible and proactive presence across the academy Support duties and transitions throughout the school day, ensuring high standards of conduct, safety and site use are upheld. Why Join Us?
