Our PE Department are seeking
an enthusiastic, highly motivated PE Teacher with a love for their
subject to join our vibrant and supportive team. There
are currently six specialist teachers who enjoy a range of traditional and
progressive teaching approaches, both contributing to the academic and pastoral
life of the school.
Cove School has an ambitious and dynamic PE department where
high-quality teaching and student engagement is embedded across the curriculum.
The PE department benefits from an excellent range of dedicated indoor and
outdoor facilities.
The PE team offer a wide variety of sports, fitness and
extra-curricular activities. The team leads the Duke of Edinburgh Award across
the school, works closely with our primary feeder schools, and engages with a
wide range of cross-curricular work within the school.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in driving PE
forward, developing extra-curricular sports for all abilities to enthuse
students to develop their abilities to progress and enjoy competitive and
recreational sport.

running of the Department, including, setting and marking examinations,
attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other
tasks as delegated by the Curriculum Leader
Actively
safeguard and promote the welfare of all children
Support
the schoolsβ aims and objectives for teaching and learning
Adhere
to and promote all school policies and procedures
Person Specification:
Good degree in a directly
related subject (desirable) Thorough knowledge of the (11-16)
subject Curriculum up to GCSE Recognised teaching
qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience Awareness of Safeguarding
requirements and good practice Good level of IT literacy Be capable of delivering
inspirational and adaptive lessons to the full age and ability range of pupils
at the school Be able to demonstrate a
positive and authoritative rapport with pupils Have excellent and effective
classroom management skills Have excellent communication
skills to enable effective dialogue with pupils, parents, staff and visitors Be organised and
self-motivated, with a proven record
