Job Title: Learning and Pastoral Support Officer Actual Annual Salary: £22,185 - £24,203 (Based on hours and working weeks) Full Time Equivalent Salary: £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D). We are seeking a dedicated Learning & Pastoral Support Officer (Primary) to play a vital role in supporting pupils' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and achievement. Working closely with teachers, families and academy leaders, you will build positive relationships, provide targeted pastoral and academic interventions, deliver high-quality learning activities and support the creation of a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment. The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding, have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire pupils to overcome barriers to learning. You will also provide planned PPA cover, support pupil progress and champion high expectations across the academy. About you: You will have: A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable knowledge of safeguarding. Current successful school experience with a responsibility for student welfare / raising achievement. Experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with students and having appropriate contact with families and carers of children. An understanding of the needs and values of different communities, in particular the different cultures the academy serves. Knowledge of academy policies, particularly those on Race Equality, Cultural Diversity and Health and Safety. Ability to travel independently to undertake home visits and attend meetings at other locations as required by the role.
